CarMax Inc., is looking to hire 600 people throughout the country. CarMax, Inc is the largest used car retailer within the US.
Based in Virginia, CarMax has 77 positions available in the state with 39 of these positions being sales consultant jobs. Other jobs include mechanical associates, reconditioning associates, sales managers in training, detailers, operations managers in training, technicians, business office associates, and buyers associates.
Most of the 600 available jobs are sales positions, however CarMax also has job openings in the following departments.
- Service Operations
- Business Office
- Purchasing
- Full Time and Part Time Positions Available
Although the job openings are normal for CarMax at this time of year in getting geared up for the coming spring and summer car buying season, CEO Tom Folliard said in a statement, “At a time when unemployment is high and people may be thinking about a career change, we are proud to be offering quality jobs that offer training, development and excellent benefits”.
CarMax was just named for the sixth year as one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For” by Fortune magazine.
When deciding on the 100 Best Companies To Work For, FORTUNE, along with the Great Place to Work Institute conducts what they call the the most extensive employee survey in America.
This year, 343 companies participated. Two thirds of the survey is based on random employee answers to questions regarding their attitudes about the management’s credibility, job satisfaction and camaraderie. The remaining one third is based on the company’s answers to questions regarding pay, their benefit programs, hiring, communication, and diversity.
