To work in the store retailing field, one typically does not need a special degree. Retail work can be fun and, if a person is good enough, financially rewarding as well. This is typically a job for a person who is outgoing and enjoys being around people. Good conversation starters and a quick wit go over well with employers looking to hire. A well kept appearance is a must if a person is considering being a retailer. Most positions require the employee to be on their feet a lot. Good shoes are important.
Retailing makes great high school jobs for students as well as jobs for seniors looking to get out in the world among other people.
