Tampa Bay Unemployment Spike

December 23, 2009

Florida’s 11.5% unemployment rate does not factor in the people who are underemployed because they can only find part time jobs. Those numbers also do not include the people who have simply given up and dropped out of the labor pool all together. If these people were included in the state numbers, the actual unemployment figures would be closer to 18.7 %.

In the last year the only sector hiring in Florida is health care. It’s the same way in other parts of the nation but with Florida’s high senior citizen rate, health care is… well… booming. Relatively speaking.

MedCo Data of Tampa Bay has been hiring for his company which helps Physicians offices convert to electronic medical records. The Physicians who “convert” are eligible for up to $44K in federal stimulous money to get them automated.

The motto of the story, if you live in Tampa Bay and are one of the many seeking much needed employment, there are part time tampa bay jobs available that can help fill the gap. Additionally, there is another option to part time Tampa Bay jobs, get started in the health care field. Sounds tough? There are positions in the health care field that don’t need experience or college degrees. Check them out, they could really help your current financial situation.
